Photos of five

My five backyard plants

Our homework assignment is to chose five backyard plants and get to know them. Stephen H. Buhner in his book The Secret Teachings of Plants lists four attributes when establishing and building a relationship with plants. Paraphrased from my notes:
  1. Keep your word, never break it.
  2. Transcend your regard for human beings as the central element of the Universe.
  3. Commit to travel to deeper levels of meaning.
  4. Engage in self-examination.
I've taken photographs of the 5 plants and had my morning coffee in the garden with them.

Getting Started

We'll see how this goes. I'm thinking it will be a place to journal about gardening and specifically about herbs and wild plants.
